The exhibition is devoted to the 150th birth anniversary of the famous Russian artist Alexander Golovin (1863-1930) who organically combined in his creative oeuvre the tradition and modernity, the severity of classicism and decorative fineness of the modern style. The exposition brings together about 150 paintings, graphic works and theatre art works from the collection of the State Russian Museum, the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum, Museum of the Theatre and Musical Art (St. Petersburg), Russian Geographic Society and the private collections of St. Petersburg. Also there are presented the original scenic costumes executed on the sketches by Alexander Golovin from the collection of the Alexandrinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg).
