The publication introduces Vladimir Izdebsky (1882-1965) - the organizer of the well-known art "Salons", which have played an important role in dissemination of new ideas in art and in development of avant-garde movement. The Salon exhibitions showcased works of young Russian, French, German, and Italian artist. Izdebsky himself took part in them as the author of a number of interesting sculptural compositions and portraits.

The publication includes an article on Izdebsky Salons; reproductions of those works of artists of national avant-garde from the Russian Museum's collection which were shown at these exhibitions; brief biography of the artist, and photographs of his best extant sculptures.
