The publication acquaints with the oeuvre of Solomon Rossin, a modern Russian artist who was a representative of non-official trend in the Soviet Art in the 1960-1980’s and nowadays lives and works in St. Petersburg and France. The main themes of his painting and graphic works are the fate of a lonely and unprotected man in modern world as well as the drama of History that is comprehended by the author mainly in the philosophic and religious aspects. The album section is divided into eight theme chapters and accompanied by the articles where Russian and foreign authors trace the artist’s creative path, analyze plastic and thematic sources of his works and their place in a system of Non-conformism of the Soviet time and in Contemporary art. The publication also comprises the author’s memoirs, detailed biography of Solomon Rossin and documental photos that lights up his life and art.
