The publication for the first time ever in Russia presents the modern German artist whose works are close in their content to conceptual art. The research articles analyze the specific nature of Christian Schutz's quests in the context of discoveries made by musical innovators in the 20th century and the experience of various artists in rendering the musical language by means of painting, graphics and modern technology. The album of illustrations consists of a few sections that acquaint the reader with major series created by Schutz (BA-Сh, Chaconne, The Wanderer - Epic, Runes, The Human Body - Head and Body, The Dream - Weightless, Variations - M, Strings) and contain short explanations by the artist on the conception of each series and its realization. The publication is supplemented with biographical information and a list of major exhibitions of the artist.
