The publication is dedicated to Russian artists, representatives of "the sixties" generation and staunch followers of the realist painting tradition in the second half of the 20th century. It includes two research articles: the first one defines the place and role of the realist trend in the pre-war art, while the other one sees into evoking the image of the native land in the works by such significant artists as Arkady Plastov, brothers Alexei and Sergei Tkachev, Helium Korzhev, Victor Ivanov and others. The album of illustrations consists of monographic sections, each of them acquaints the reader with the artist's works from a private collection and is supplemented with brief biographical data.
