Yury Kalyuta is a modern Russian artist who continues the traditions of St Petersburg fine art academic school as being rethought by the artist in line with the experience of multifaceted art of the 20th century. The voluminous album of illustrations is preceded with introductory articles that analyze the artistic approach of the artist and content of his portrait images, which form a major part in his oeuvre, and works created by Yury Kalyuta in pastel. Another article is written by the artist himself and acquaints the reader with his thoughts on the correlation of traditions and innovations in his works and in modern art. The publication is supplemented with the biography of the artist and a list of his exhibitions. The publication is supported by Jialong Group. The publication acquaints the reader with works by the modern Russian artist who rethinks the principles of Russian and foreign avant-guard of the early 20th century. The album of illustrations is receded with an interview with the artist, as well as with the articles by art critics who analyze the uniqueness of creative quests of Evgeny Zevin in the context of artistic life in the 1970s-1980s and of modern art. The publication is supplemented with a detailed biography of the artist, a list of major exhibitions and a list of publications related to the artist.
