This book serves as an introduction to the creative oeuvre of the renowned artist whose name has become an integral part of the history of Russian culture at the beginning of the 20th century. Included is an album of illustrations that presents the paintings and graphics of the artist, and a scholarly article that analyzes the major stages of Malyavin's artistic journey (1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1917-1922, emigration) in great detail, and examines the uniqueness of his style in the system of artistic life in Russia and Europe using individual paintings and graphic works.
