Count Pavel Sergeevich Stroganov (1823-1911) - the great-grandson of the famous Alexander Sergeevich Stroganov, the owner of the Stroganov Palace, a philanthropist, one of the most influential representatives of the nobility in Russian society in the late XVIIIth - early XIXth centuries.
Pavel Stroganov, traveling with his father, Count S.G.Stroganov (1794-1882) and his family in Italy in 1839-1841, captured the image of this country in numerous drawings, which were considered the works of an unknown master until recently.
At the exhibition in the halls of the palace that belonged to the Stroganovs, the Russian Museum will show 60 wonderful drawings from its collection for the first time and comment in a multimedia show how their research was carried out, which made it possible to prove the authorship of Count Pavel Stroganov.
The largest number of works presented shows the beautiful Sorrento and its surroundings. It was these places that awakened creativity in the young representative of the Stroganov dynasty of collectors, largely predetermining also a passionate interest in the landscapes of his own country and the creation of his own art collection.
The exhibition is organized with the support of PAO Severstal and the travel company TUI.
30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great

The exhibition “30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great” is taking place on the Field of Mars in Saint Petersburg. The project is a reconstruction of an exhibit that was held 150 years ago at the same location and is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the first Russian emperor. Fourteen original paintings from the 1872 exhibition were discovered in the State Russian Museum’s funds. They were digitally restored and will be exhibited in the form of outstanding quality canvas prints. The honour to fill the gaps and create modern interpretations of the same historical subjects was granted to the students, alumni and professors of Saint-Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts.
