Sergey Dozhd personal exhibition at the Marble Palace is first of all presentation of the art works that are united by the movement that the artist calls “Sciarsism” – science concerned with the questions of the inner artistic space. For Dozhd as an artist the practice of artistic activity in inseparable from its theory: he constructs the strategy of a new style and tactically embodies it with his works in painting, graphic, installation and video-art. There is no doubt that his theory is rooted in the suprematism of Kazimir Malevich and is integrated into the dialogue of the artists all over the world with the “Black Square”. The exhibition will comprise Sergey Dozhd’s paintings and graphic works of the last few years, that reflect and develop the “Sciarsism” theory.

The exhibition is opening at 4 PM.

30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great

9 June 2022—9 August 2022

The exhibition “30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great” is taking place on the Field of Mars in Saint Petersburg. The project is a reconstruction of an exhibit that was held 150 years ago at the same location and is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the first Russian emperor. Fourteen original paintings from the 1872 exhibition were discovered in the State Russian Museum’s funds. They were digitally restored and will be exhibited in the form of outstanding quality canvas prints. The honour to fill the gaps and create modern interpretations of the same historical subjects was granted to the students, alumni and professors of Saint-Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts.
