The Russian Museum holds one of the largest collections of works by Zinaida Serebriakova, comprising 60 paintings and around 200 graphic works spanning the artist’s entire career.

The exhibition at the Yaroslavl Art Museum made up of 34 painting and graphic works from the collection of the Russian Museum provides an overview of Zinaida Serebriakova’s life and work. It covers different periods of the artist’s career, explores various genres and subjects of her art. On display are paintings created at her family estate Neskuchnoye near Kharkov, as well as in St. Petersburg and Paris. The exhibition features such iconic paintings as “Bather” (1911), study for “Whitening Cloth” (1917), “House of Cards” (1919), self-portraits from 1922 and 1946, paintings from the Morocco series, and others.

The exhibition at the Yaroslavl Art Museum opens on September 5th as part of the Russian Museum Cultural and Exhibition Center Project and will last until December 16th, 2018.

30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great

The exhibition “30 paintings from the life of Peter the Great” is taking place on the Field of Mars in Saint Petersburg. The project is a reconstruction of an exhibit that was held 150 years ago at the same location and is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the first Russian emperor. Fourteen original paintings from the 1872 exhibition were discovered in the State Russian Museum’s funds. They were digitally restored and will be exhibited in the form of outstanding quality canvas prints. The honour to fill the gaps and create modern interpretations of the same historical subjects was granted to the students, alumni and professors of Saint-Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts.
