Masterpieces of the Russian Museum
The exhibition includes works of a wide circle of famous Russian artists. Among them are masters of the Moscow Symbolist community «Blue Rose» (Sergei Sudeikin, Nikolai Krymov, Nikolai Sapunov); representatives of one of the early Russian avant-garde currents «Jack of Diamonds» (Pyotr Konchalovsky, Aristarkh Lentulov, Ilya Mashkov, Alexander Kuprin); artistic movement from Saint-Petersburg «Mir iskusstva» (Leon Bakst, Alexander Benois, Konstantin Somov, Boris Kustodiev Alexander Golovin); finally, the masters of Russian neoclassicism (Zinaida Serebryakova, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Konstantin Bogaevsky). Also will be represented works by artists of «old school» by Ilya Repin and Arkhip Kuindzhi.

Initiated to coincide with 152 years since the artist’s birth, this exhibition follows extensive research undertaken to elaborate on certain aspects of Leonid Sherwood’s artistic biography and reconstruct the history and destinies of many of his works.
