The Biennale of Historical and Archival Photography once again presents inaccessible photo collections of regional museums. The exposition is structured as a consistent story about the cultural, everyday and political life of Russia in the 1870s - 1930s.

In the summer of 2017, the collection of the Russian Museum received a donation of an extensive collection of works by various artists, which was called the Leporskaya Archive in historiography. The archive included over 600 works by Anna Alexandrovna Leporskaya herself: 512 drawings, watercolors, gouaches, 10 canvases and more than 100 porcelain items.

Gaga Kovenchuk - Georgy Vasilievich Kovenchuk (1933-2015) was born in Leningrad. Kovenchuk graduated from the graphic faculty of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin (Alexei Pahomov's studio). His grandfather, Nicolai Kulbin was a prominent figure in art world, a theoretician of the Russian avant-garde. Kovenchuk's life is organically interlinked with artistic life of St. Petersburg with many connecting lines.
