The “Inner Book” of the G. A. V. Traugot Brothers

The creative tandem of brothers Alexander and Valery Traugot does not need a special introduction. It became a truly significant phenomenon in the artistic life of post-war Leningrad, and a huge number of book illustrations signed with the memorable triple initial “G.A.V.” together represents one of the brightest pages in the history of the Soviet post-war art of the book.

The Biennale of Historical and Archival Photography once again presents inaccessible photo collections of regional museums. The exhibition will show 144 photographs from museums in Voronezh, Ivangorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Rybinsk, Ryazan, Simferopol, Omsk, Pskov, Uglich, Yakutsk. The exposition is structured as a consistent story about the cultural, everyday and political life of Russia in the 1870s - 1930s.

In the summer of 2017, the collection of the Russian Museum received a donation of an extensive collection of works by various artists, which was called the Leporskaya Archive in historiography. The archive included over 600 works by Anna Alexandrovna Leporskaya herself: 512 drawings, watercolors, gouaches, 10 canvases and more than 100 porcelain items.

He left an impressive mark in the urban environment: modern St. Petersburg cannot be imagined without the buildings and bridges designed by Vasilkovsky. One of the facets of the master's work will be shown in the exhibition - his graphics and ceramics.
