James Bonk in Matt Blackfinger

1988, 00:11:40, PAL, color, sound, PAL, 4:3

Akiko Hada

(born in Japan, 1961, nowadays lives in Berlin)

Akiko Hada the Japanese media artist is famous for her video and animation works, music videos, filming of the art performances and concerts. Her works are full of music and peculiar humor, as for example the video performance «The Fall of a Queen or the Taste of the Fruit to Come», allusion to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

«James Bonk in Matt Blackfinger» is a puppet parody to the third part of Bondiana (Goldfinger, 1964) created with the “Japanese American Toy Theater of London” and composer David Toop.

Agent 0016, a wind-up clockwork aubergine toy pear is attacked by plastic ninja and murdered by being painted matt black on a beach in the tropics. Agent 0017, a plastic green toy Godzilla is sent on a mission to investigate this murder. Agent 0017 is a real ladies' man, that is, a real Barbie dolls'. He often repeats “My name is Bonk. James Bonk”. “James Bonk” is an incredibly ridiculous parody to spy movies.

September 1 the lecture of Stefan Lutschinger the Associate Lecturer in Digital Publishing and Media at Middlesex University in London will take place in the Marble Palace (in Russian).
