Flowers, music, games, repasts are combined in the artist's oeuvre with the scenes of the life of Jesus, metaphorical images of birds and fish. Natalya Nesterova was born in Moscow. In 1962, she graduated from the Moscow art school, and in 1968 - from the Surikov Moscow Art Institute. The member of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Honoured Artist of Russia, Natalya Nesterova was awarded the Triumph prize in 2002; and in 2004 she was praised with an Honorary golden medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.
