Robert Heusser. Photographs 1940-2000

18 May 2001—24 June 2001
Robert Hoisser has been contributing to exhibitions since the 1950s, long before photography earned the status of an official art genre. Born in Stuttgart in 1924, Hoisser was one of the few photographers to receive a professional training at that time. In the 1950s, he became interested in architectural photography and pop art. He also designed for the National Theatre in Mannheim. Over the past forty years, the artist has held sixty one-man shows in various museums and private galleries worldwide. The present exhibition in the Marble Palace is the second display of Hoisser's photographic art in Russia, following an interval of more than fifteen years. The exhibition consists of 130 works from all periods of the artist's career.
