The exhibition presents about a hundred works by Andrei Martynov - prominent Russian painter, drawer, aquarellist and engraver of late XVIII - early XIX centuries. Martynov is known mainly for his landscapes, and his artistic evolution in this genre will be presented by examples of both painterly and graphic works from The State Russian Museum, State Hermitage and private collection. The exhibition also provides a unique opportunity to get acquainted with Martynov's album of drawings "Mongolian Types" from the collection of A. Egorov, created during the journey of the Russian embassy to China in 1805-1806. This album was little known before and will be exhibited for the first time. The exhibition also includes Martynov's works from the "Views of St. Petersburg and its outskirts" series and images of Moscow and the other towns of Russia.
