An exhibition in the Garden Vestibule of the Mikhailovsky Palace presents six portraits of poet Anna Akhmatova in painting, graphics, and sculpture, created by the writer’s contemporaries. Her extraordinary, remarkable appearance and dignified conduct used to inspire many artists of her time. Among them are Natan Altman, Nikolai Tyrsa, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin. Their works captured Anna Akhmatova’s look and spirit in different periods of her life.

The exhibition allows to observe the creation history of this work and to identify the depicted persons, and also to plunge into the festive atmosphere of "The Eternal City" of the time the painting were created.

The exhibition will present a painting by Mikhail Vasilyevich Nesterov (1862–1942) “Holy Russia”, the complex restoration of which was completed in the Russian Museum, as well as photo and video documentation of the restoration works.
