In addition to the Imperial Gardens of Russia Festival the Russian Museum organized the one-man exhibition of the artist Sergey Kovalyov dedicated to flowers.
Sergey Kovalyov (he was born in 1919) is the chief designer of underwater cruiser of strategic purpose, full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of engineering sciences, twice hero of Socialist Labour, laureate of the State Prizes of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation. From 2007 he is the full member of the Academy of Arts. He is also the honorary member of the Union of Russian Artists. He became to paint professionally very late.
The favorite genres of Sergey Kovalyov in painting are landscape and still-life. He depicts the Northern nature, nature of the Leningrad region, beautiful places of Saint Petersburg in various seasons and at any time of day.
Sergey Kovalyov has the two one-man exhibitions in 1999 – in the Neptune International Business Centre and in the Blue Living-Room of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists, and participates in four exhibitions on different areas (1999-2004).
To See the Invisible... for the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Technological Research

The title of the exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Department of Technological Research reflects the essence of its work: to study what, how, when and by whom certain works were created. The exposition gives an idea of what results such research methods as microscopy, radiography, study in the infrared and ultraviolet regions of the spectrum, X-ray fluorescence analysis can bring.

Amerling was one of the best masters of children’s portrait of his time. The portrait of the little Count Sheremetev discovered in the State Russian Museum is the only work of the master in Russia so far. The exhibition will feature portraits of Nikolai Sheremetev made by various artists in various techniques - painting, miniature, sculpture, original and printed graphics from the collection of the State Russian Museum, the Ostankino Estate Museum (Moscow), the State Historical Museum, and the collection of T. A. Udras (Moscow).
