Permanent exhibition of Russian Folk art of XVII-XXIth centuries includes some 1,500 exhibits. Arranged chronologically, they show history of development of peasant art and of local centres of artistic crafts, all their main kinds and genres.

The exhibition allows to observe the creation history of this work and to identify the depicted persons, and also to plunge into the festive atmosphere of "The Eternal City" of the time the painting were created.

The exhibition will present a painting by Mikhail Vasilyevich Nesterov (1862–1942) “Holy Russia”, the complex restoration of which was completed in the Russian Museum, as well as photo and video documentation of the restoration works.
