The department “Russian centre of the museum pedagogy and children’s creativity” is located in Eastern Pavilion of St. Michael’s Castle.фото1.jpg

The department was created in 1990, it deals with issues of interaction of the art museum with an education system. The Centre is a developer of a complex of the museum and pedagogical programs "Hello, Museum!".

The museum programs for children and youth audience are one of important part of activities of department. The Centre team create excursions, cycles of season tickets and workshops for little and young guests from 4 to 17 years and a family audience. The season tickets include excursions in the museum halls and creative practices in studios.

The exhibitions of children's creativity are regularly organized on the basis of a collection of Fund of children's creativity of the Russian Museum for wide audience and visitors.

The Western Pavilion of St.Michael's Castle houses the Multimedia Centre of the Russian Museum. One of the directions of the Multimedia Centre's activities is the creation of thematic multimedia expositions which enable visitors to get acquainted with the museum’s complex, the collection of the Russian Museum via a presentation works of art in multimedia format. Now the multimedia exposition "Our Romantic Emperor" and Online Lecture Hall are open in the Multimedia Centre. фото1.jpg

An Interactive Game Route "Our Romantic Emperor" is intended for individual visitors and organised groups.

For preschool children, schoolchildren, students of specialised secondary educational institutions, students and pensioners – 350 rubles.

On the day of the tour, tickets are only available in the ticket offices of the palaces of the Russian Museum (except the Stroganov Palace and the Cabin of Peter the Great).


Public lectures by leading museum specialists for a wide audience of lovers of fine art are given through the Online Lecture Hall of the Multimedia Centre.

The lectures are webcast live at the web site of Non-commercial partnership "Virtual Russian museum" www.npvrm.ru and thanks to the videoconference system are broadcast by the institutions that are the partners of the museum in the project "The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch".
