The State Russian Museum / The Stroganov Palace A Photographic Perspective on St. Petersburg
It is hard to find a city in Russia, which would be depicted as often as St. Petersburg. From the first years of its foundation to the present day painters, graphic artists, and photographers represented in their works historical events and everyday scenes full of greatness and originality of St. Petersburg architecture. Unlike traditional Russian cities, St. Petersburg inspires many people with its unfathomable mystery, and for some of them, it gives an impulse to express personal feelings in photography. Each and every photographer participating in the exhibition has his own, real and magical image of St. Petersburg.

The Leningrad Rock Club was established in early 1981 and has become a true center of attraction for musicians whose art did not fit into the Soviet cultural framework. The Leningrad Rock Club was a sign of the era of upcoming changes in the country and even now, after forty years, it is hardly needed to explain what was its role in the cultural and social life of Leningrad and, more broadly, the country.
Alexander Tyshler. The Theater in Easel Paintings

The exhibition held in the year of the theater in Russia is dedicated to the wonderful, mysterious and strange world of images of Alexander Tyshler (1898–1980). The Russian Museum has an extensive collection of paintings and graphic works by Tyshler, which were donated to the museum by the master and his wife and also by G.M. Levitin, a close friend of many Russian theater scenic artists.
