Baryshnikov
The worldwide famous genius dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov is not closed in his job. The photography is one of his favourite hobbies, that he had turned to 25 years ago. Inspired by ballet photos of Alexei Brodovitch, by the art of Irving Penn, Ilse Bing, Paul Himmel, Baryshnikov found out, how the fuzzy, blurred picture brings the audience closer to the sense of motion. Trying to create a visual metaphor of the motion?s birth with the help of the contrast of fuzzy and sharp faces, Baryshnikov, as the professional, feels the pulse of the dance and bears unforgettable, aerial and eluding image.
The photo series, that are presented at the exhibition «Merce My Way» is the attempt of Baryshnikov to turn into photo images the poetry of the one of the greatest modern choreographers — Merce Canningam, who became famous throw refutation of the basic rules of the choreography and by his so called casual method («scenery of the dance» is sometimes specified with the help of the dice). The choreograph learns the limits of the human body facilities throw unnatural curving, using the cold angular movements, for example, hand flexion in the antyrythm with the legs flexion.
4th Biennale of Historical and Archival Photography from Russian Museums and Archives

The Biennale of Historical and Archival Photography once again presents inaccessible photo collections of regional museums. The exhibition will show 144 photographs from museums in Voronezh, Ivangorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Rybinsk, Ryazan, Simferopol, Omsk, Pskov, Uglich, Yakutsk. The exposition is structured as a consistent story about the cultural, everyday and political life of Russia in the 1870s - 1930s.
Pavel Stroganov: Italian Journey

Count Pavel Sergeevich Stroganov (1823-1911), traveling with his family in Italy in 1839-1841, captured the image of this country in numerous drawings, which were considered the works of an unknown master until recently. At the exhibition in the halls of the palace that belonged to the Stroganovs, the Russian Museum will show 60 wonderful drawings from its collection for the first time and comment in a multimedia show how their research was carried out, which made it possible to prove the authorship of Count Pavel Stroganov.
