Music of the Summer Garden

28 august 2016—28 august 2016

For many years a project "Music of the Summer Garden" is organized for citizens and visitors of St Petersburg.

Traditions of concerts of military brass bands in the Summer Garden were born under Peter the Great, when the garden was the official royal residence. Music accompanied the Assemblies, celebrations of military victories of the Emperors and other holidays in the Summer Garden. For example, the Coffee House keeps a history of the statements of Italian opera singers. Up until the 1970s musical performances were an integral part of the garden.

Thirty years later, in 2001, the Russian Museum in collaboration with the North-West branch of Sberbank of Russia have revived this tradition and returned to the Summer Garden his voice.

The last concert of this season will pass on 28 August, 16.00 on the main avenue of the Summer Garden

The entrance is free.
