The publication contains an album of illustrations, catalogue, chronicle of his life and work and 2 articles by leading curators of the Russian Museum, dedicated to the oeuvre of the artist as well as the history of the Mikhail Vrubel collection in the museum.
The catalogue, consisting of sections: painting, drawing, watercolours, engraving, sculpture, ceramics and printing graphic art, includes all works by the master from the collection of the Russian Museum.
The album section reproduces all works included in the catalogue as well as photographs of private belongings of the artist from the museum collection. For the first time the book reproduces all works of decorative applied art and printing graphic art.
The chronicle of life of the artist is accompanied by photographs from the funds of the manuscript department and museum photograph library.
