The publication presents the works by the modern Russian artist and writer, the author of narrative compositions and portraits based on the rethinking of the figurative language of German Expressionism and Soviet Non-Conformism. The text section of the book includes the articles by Russian and foreign experts who consider in detail the phenomenon of the artist's works in the context of social and cultural life of modern society. The publication includes the voluminous album of reproductions of graphic and painterly works by Maxim Kantor, as well as a small extract from his novel A Drawing Textbook, documental photographs, biography information, a list of the artist's personal exhibitions and major collections where his works can be found.
