The publication is dedicated to a special kind of print graphics - sheets with the images of Old Testament and evangelic religious stories and life of saints, which were very popular among peasants and lower town folks. It includes an article that studies different aspects of the artistic language and history of religious popular prints (lubok) in Russia from the time of its origin before the 1910s, the album of illustrations with detailed annotations for each of the works presented, a short glossary of printing techniques that were used for lubok making, as well as biographies of the owners of printing workshops.
