The Russian Centre of the Museum Pedagogy and Children’s Creativity, an associate member of the Russian Academy of Education, is a department of the Russian Museum responsible for issues of art education.
Working together with world’s major museums, research institutes and educational organizations, the Centre provides advanced training courses for museum educators and school teachers, as well as develops extra-curricular educational programmes.
Using the latest technologies in museum pedagogy, the Centre team has designed and developed the Hello, Museum! project, a comprehensive set of museum educational programmes fully supported with electronic and paper teaching and learning materials. The project’s modules — We Enter the World of Aesthetics, The World of the Museum, A Way Toward Fine Art, and Historical Development of Fine Art — are now implemented in 50 regions of Russia.
Among other activities, the Centre holds an art club, known as Meetings at the Russian Museum, aimed at children from 4 to 17 years of age, as well as teachers, parents and art educators.
The Centre occupies the East Corps de Guards of the St. Michael (Engineers’) Castle. This historic building of the 18th century now houses: a multimedia library, exhibition areas, classrooms, art studios, a distance education centre and premises of the Collection of Children’s Artwork. The Collection comprises about 4,000 national and foreign children’s works of art dated from 1906 to nowadays.
We invite to collaboration.
