“EXPEDITION” EXHIBITION-INSTALLATION

“Expedition” exhibition-installation created by the modern artists Mikhail Pavlukovich and Olga Subbotina in 2010 especially for the Festival of modern art “Living Perm” is holding within the framework of the Days of Perm Culture in St. Petersburg “Cultural Alliance”. The idea of installation contributed from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art PERMM is the attempt to catch the moving of time and to find the beauty in the fine verges of the transition of the graphic image in object, black in white and figurative in abstraction. The artists used all the characteristics of material to create the variety of meanings of the installation offering visitors an opportunity of the subjective apprehension.

The project is supported by the Committee of Culture of St. Petersburg and the Ministry of Culture, Youth Policy and Communications of the Perm Territory.

The exhibition features selected paintings and sculptures created in the late 1940s – early 1990s from the collection of the Belgorod State Art Museum. The public can enjoy works by Sergei Gerasimov, Yury Pimenov, Alexander Laktionov, Georgy Ryazhsky, Pyotr Ossovsky and other masters of Soviet art.

Pop Mechanics by Sergei Kuryokhin

The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Sergei Kuryokhin, a musician, composer, screenwriter and actor, founder of the legendary Pop Mechanics band that became one of the most important cultural phenomena of the second half of the 20th century.
