German video art in the Russian museum
The program “German video art in the Russian museum” is organized in cooperation with Goethe-Institut and “Video-Forum” (Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin). The curators have selected eight pieces of art of video artists from Germany and other countries. The program includes such classical pieces as film - documentation of Joseph Beuys’ performance “I like America and America likes Me”.
The opening of the program will take place on 19 May at 4 PM with demonstration of the film “I like America and America likes Me” by Helmut Wietz (1974) and lecture “Joseph Beuys” by O. Turkina.

The exhibition includes around 70 paintings and sculptures from the mid-20th century to the early 21st, taken from the Russian Museum collection and from artists’ studios in Moscow and St Petersburg.
