Robert Indiana, born Robert Clark, is an American artist associated with the pop art movement. His "LOVE" print was first created in 1965 for New York Museum of Modern Art Christmas card. The serigraph of "Love" was printed as part of an exhibition poster for Stable Gallery in 1966. In the following years it was executed in various techniques and in 1973 became the basis for the "LOVE" stamp of the United States Postal Service.
