The artist left Russia in 1910. He was forgotten on the native land and his creative oeuvre was consigned to oblivion until the middle of the 1980s. The artist's name is well-known in Europe, but not in Russia, where he got professional education, formed as a painter and participated actively in different spheres of cultural life. The paintings with a religious subject-matter and the ancient world reminiscences, the big paintings-panels with including of figurative elements and the numerous non-objective compositions are presented at the exhibition. Of great interest is the artist's sculpture obtained in Europe. The presented 'Rhythm' and 'Dancing' are recently researched. The exhibition includes the artworks from the collection of the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Volsk's Museum of the Local Lore, the Saratov Radishchev's Art Museum, the Tambov Regional Art Gallery and private collections in Russia, France and Switzerland. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue in Russian and English.
