The publication acquaints the reader with the oeuvre of the Russian artist who took part in two round-the-world expeditions headed by Faddey Bellingshausen and Mikhail Lazarev (1819-1821) and Fyodor Litke and Mikhail Stanyukovich (1826-1829). The book contains a research article on the history of Pavel Mikhailov's journeys and the fate of his large series of graphic works. The album of illustrations includes two sections, which contain the reproductions of watercolours and drawings made during the journeys, and is supplemented with detailed catalogue information. The publication is supplemented with a chronicle of the round-the world expeditions, as well as the extracts from documentary materials related to the creative life of Pavel Mikhailov and the detailed biography.
