INTERNATIONAL ONLINE CONFERENCE Blockchain Technology: Art, Play, and Meanings

On October 6 and 7, the Multimedia Center of the Russian Museum will host the international conference NFT WEEK TECH "Blockchain Technologies: Art, Play and Meanings", which will bring together experts in the field of blockchain technologies, NFT and the gaming industry, specialists in economics, law, culture and fine arts on one platform.
The purpose of the conference is to create a professional discussion field around topical issues of digitalization of state cultural institutions. The range of issues at the conference is diverse - from theory, revealing what is blockchain and NFT, up to practical cases of the use of these technologies, including in the field of fine arts. Today, we know only some scattered facts of blockchain activity in the digital environment related to the creation of a new market, among them are sales at auctions of NFT objects tied to fine art.
One of the objectives of the conference is to get acquainted with the practical development of NFT in various fields and try to understand how useful they can be for state cultural institutions. The entry of museums into a new digital field in all respects means making informed decisions both in the field of technology and in solving issues of economic order, legal aspects of relations with the authors of works of art, owners and heirs, as well as many other issues that are just beginning to manifest themselves and that should be taken into account when determining modern information policy.
The conference will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Federal State Art museums, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, IT, gaming and fashion industries, media artists and producers. The conference "Blockchain technologies: art, game, Meanings" is organized by the Russian Museum with the Digital Art Foundation "DAF" and the company "Midway Art" and is intended to initiate a broad discussion on the use of NFT technologies in the field of culture.
