Permanent exhibition
Collection of the Old Russian painting of the Russian Museum is one of the largest and most significant in Russia. It includes around six thousand icons. The permanent exhibition housed in the first four halls of Mikhailovsky Palace represents a part of this collection, the most valuable works of XII-XVII centuries created in the major art centers of Old Russia: Novgorod, Pskov, Vladimir, Suzdal, Moscow, and Yaroslavl.
Russian Imperial Table Services

The exhibition is dedicated to tableware sets commissioned by the emperor’s family and crafted at the Imperial Porcelain Factory. On display are ceremonial fine china services – around 200 pieces in total – including those created for specific imperial and grand ducal residences, as well as for special occasions such as coronations and weddings.
Poet of the Silver age - Konstantin Romanov

Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich was an accomplished Russian poet, who wrote under the cryptonym K. R. and was an excellent translator of Goethe, Schiller and Shakespeare’s works. He was the son of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich and grandson of emperor Nocholas I, and also a senator and a president of the Academy of Sciences. He inherited the Marble palace in 1888.

The 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a time to honour the heroes of all generations. They come to life for us through the talent and legacy of artists whose works embody both profound love for their people and deep empathy for the destiny of their Motherland. The exhibition features over 200 works of various forms and genres, depicting the most significant and decisive historical battles of Russia.
Ivan Pokhitonov. 175th Anniversary of the Artist’s Birth

For the first time in St Petersburg, the Russian Museum presents an exhibition of the outstanding Russian landscape and realist painter Ivan Pokhitonov (1850–1923). The exhibition features about 150 works, including paintings, drawings, and works of decorative and applied art. Visitors will discover Ivan Pokhitonov not only as a landscape painter but also as a genre artist, portraitist, and creator of ceramic paintings.
Modern exhibition of Cabin of Peter the Great

Modern exhibition of the museum comprises items dating back to Peter I’s time, including memorial paraphernalia, such as: red broadcloth uniform, an oriental cane, a model of Peter I’s hand based on an imprint made at Lipetsk foundry in 1707, a wherry, and Peter’s armchair.
