Exhibition of Old Russian Icons in Madrid

On January 20 an exhibition "Masterpieces of an Old Russian Icon-painting from collection of the Russian Museum" will open in the Russian center of science and culture in Madrid.

The reproductions of icons from the Russian Museum collection executed on the basis of high-precision gigapixel shooting will be shown on the exhibition. All reproductions are followed by QR codes in the Russian and Spanish languages by means of which visitors of an exhibition will be able to listen audioguides about each of the works presented at an exhibition or to read the explaining information accompanying each icon. 

For an exhibition is prepared the Spanish version of the multimedia movie "Saint Nikolay Is the Defender of a Sort Country" telling about Saint Nikolay Mirlikiysky's image in works XII-XIX of centuries from the Russian Museum collection.

Within opening Irina Aleksandrovna Shalinaof, the leading researcher of department of Old Russian art of the Russian Museum will conduct a tour on an exposition.

The exhibition will be extended till January 31. Further it is planned to be shown in other Spanish cities, in particular in branch of the Russian Museum in Malaga.
