About the exhibition
This small-scale exhibition in Room 82 of the Benois Wing is dedicated to the memory of the distinguished art historian Nikolai Novouspensky, who gave more than fifty years of service to the Russian Museum. The display presents sixteen works by great masters whose oeuvre Novouspensky introduced to specialists and art lovers throughout his long career: paintings by Alexei Savrasov, Ivan Shishkin and Fyodor Vasilyev, and studies by Ilya Repin.
