The publication accompanying the Russia! exhibition, which was of great success in New York (the USA) and Bilbao (Spain), includes over 300 masterpieces from the collections of the Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, art museums of Russia and private collections. It gives an opportunity to estimate the scale and the range of the exhibition.
The book includes articles by famous Russian art critics on the development of the Russian art from ancient times to present day; an illustrated catalogue with brief annotations and artists´ biographies.
The album of illustrations includes icons of the 12th - 17th centuries, artworks of painting and sculpture of the 18th - 20th centuries, objects of applied art and installations of the 2000s of the 21st century.
Most of the artworks, particularly from the art museums of Russia and private collections have been published for the first time.
