Georgy Shishkin

Georgy Shishkin
28 June 2017—31 July 2017

The personal exhibition of Georgy Shishkin comprises his major artistic cycles among which are “Russian dreams” – which was first presented in 1990s in Paris, Cannes, Monaco and other cities and brought the artist wide popularity; paintings dedicated to the Ballets Russes and Sergei Diaghilev; works consecrated to the Russian history and portraits of the prominent actors, ballet dancers: Jean Marais, Gérard  Depardieu, Inna Churikova, Milorad Mišković etc.

The artist’s striving for depiction of the subtle inner life of his characters determines the uniqueness of his images. Individual artistic painterly technique helps the artist create large-scale pastel art works while specific glazing technique helps him reflect the emotional nature of the world of ballet.

Shishkin is currently resident in Monaco and Paris, he often participates in charitable projects. His exhibition at the Russian Museum marks his return to the motherland. His exposition in St. Michael’s Castle will comprise over 50 artworks from personal collections.

The exhibition is supported by Sistema Charitable Foundation.

The exhibition is opening at 4 PM.
